HOW TO MEASURE

All our 'Made to Measure' Blinds are custom made so the measurements must be accurate.
*ALWAYS USE A METAL TAPE MEASURE FOR ACCURACY*
MEASURING FOR BLINDS
ROLLER, VENETIAN and ROMAN BLINDS
Measure the width and height of the recess of the window in several places in case the window varies and give us the smallest measurment. We can then e-mail you with a price.
If you require the blinds to be outside the recess, add on the height above the window where you want the blind to be fitted and the amount either side of the window, depending how wide your sill is.

ROMAN BLINDS
There are several options when choosing a design for your blind:
- Drawing Right or Left. This simple means which side of the blind the cord goes. Just fasten the cord to a cleat (this is suplied) on the window frame or wall. This can be changed at any time, all you have to do is re-string the blind , instructions supplied.
- Creative Borders. Consider a creative border around the blind in contrasting fabric to complement your existing curtains, combing the softness of curtain fabric with the modern feel of a blind. To create this classical design we usually recommend 5cm for a border around the edge of the blind, but you can , if you wish, go up to 15cm. This border runs from the perimeter of the blind inwards, and you can be even more creative by having either a border along the bottom only, bottom and sides, or sides only.
- Cool shaped bottoms. For the contempory design, this is an opportunity to have the bottom of the blind cut to the classical traditional shape of a 'Seagull' ,' Scollop' or ' ZigZag ' shaped bottom. This can be made in the same fabric as the blind, or in a contrasting fabric. (we can send you various designs for shaped bottoms). The bottom of the blind is 3 - 5 cm in height and please note the drop measurement is inclusive of this section. This means the blind we make up for you will have a drop equal to the distance from the top of the blind to the lowermost point on the shaped bottom. By having a shaped bottom to your blind, it will leak some light, you may wish to consider making the blind a little longer, (providing you have room).
Interlining & Lining.
- All our romans are fully lined to provide maximum light proofing and to ensure they hang perfect, adding that fashionable layered cool look to your window whilst also providing additional warmth and privacy to your room. The lining helps to reduce fabric fade in strong sunlight, ensuring it will look good as the day it was fitted and long into the future. Standard lining is a cream coloured cotton sateen. Blackout lining is also cream, but is a little heavier and is treated to make it 100% lightproof. It is ideal for bedroom and living rooms. Interlining gives greater warmth and gives it the cosy look.
Fabrics.
- The most important part of any blind is the fabric, this is the most visible part of the blind. You will have your own ideas on designs and colours. Our exclusive range of fabrics will provide you with a huge choice whatever your colour scheme or preference, just click on fabics and browes our selection.
Please state if the blind is in or outside the recess of the window
